First of all, sorry that I am writing this so late. There has been lots going on, and I didn't have much time to write my blogs.
Second of all, Merry Christmas!
Third of all, the actual post.
Today I was sooo excited. I just couldn't wait until
SANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
came.
I had to wait until 6 o'clock though.
I know what you're thinking. What does 6 PM have to do with
SANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?
Well, in Germany, for no particular reason,
SANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
comes at 6 PM instead of 12 AM.
Anyway, 6 AM - 6 PM = 12 hours, so I had a long time to wait.
At 2:30, our Great-Uncle Heinz came. Heinz is my Mum's uncle on her dad's side. He has had 2 strokes in his life and is a bit wobbly on his legs, but he's really smart and funny. He brought four HUGE bowls of chocolate.
Then at about 4 o'clock, the rest of the family came. Aunt Petra, Uncle Armin and Armin's dad Karl. There were also lots of people not there: everybody from my dad's side, my mum's cousin, his wife, and their daughter (who I think would count as my cousin once removed).
A short while after everyone arrived, Mum made us take out our instruments to perform for the family. We played a bunch of short carols, and also our special, advanced exam pieces (which we still really need to practise).
After that: SANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
was meant to come. In order to let
SANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
do his work alone, we set out for a short walk around the neighbourhood. Only a few people stayed behind: Heinz, because he can't walk well, Karl, for the same reason, and Armin, to look after Karl. When we came back, there were more presents under the tree.
We opened them.
Petra brought a huge raclette set: raclette means "shaved", and describes small pans full of condiments such as baby tomatoes, broccoli, onions, bits of meat, all covered with cheese. So basically lots of small 'make your own meals'. They were delicious!
